I never will understand the point of showering these celebs with all of these "FREE" gifts. . . these people make millions of dollars every year and they absolutely can afford to supply their own nursery needs and then to put on tv so that the person who may be pregnant & hardworking, but barely scraping by can watch. . . I just don't understand

I think Jessica Alba should go the Nicole Ritchie route – she had a baby shower where all the gifts went to programs for underprivledged expectant moms. And if that’s what the Tyra shower was about, I’m all for it.
In private, I have no problem with people throwing a shower for an expectant mother, no matter what her circumstances. It’s the celebration of a new life. And perhaps Tyra is good friends with Jessica and was just being nice for a friend. But I agree, the public forum is a little tacky. I sometimes think that the wealthy of this country forget what it’s like for the rest of us.

I don’t understand it either. That is always the first thing that pops up in my head when I see this stuff. I bet they just act surprised when they’re really not.. : Tyra should be giving those gift to those who are in need of it. I think it is offensive in a way…
